Jan 03, 2018 · "Ok Google" & "Hey Google" are the official ways to wake the Google Home but how does it actually work? When you first start using the Google Home it is a bit tricky to figure out how it all works.
Step 2: Add the 'Ok Google' Siri Shortcut. Once logged into the Google Assistant app, tap on the visual snapshot button in the bottom right, then add "Ok Google" to Siri. The prompt will be front and center, just tap on the "Add to Siri" button. If it's not there, it's likely you already enabled the "Ok Google" Siri Shortcut.
When you set up Google Home, the app asks you to specify the location/room of the Google Home device. By default, your Google Home will be named as XXX room Home. Most Google Home owners may be OK with the name. But some owners may want to rename Google Home so that the name of Google Home is more meaningful and personalized. I know that Google is specifically against naming it's Assistant, but it would be way more personal if you could name your Google Home device.
